Finance

The Finance Committee has met and we have decided in the light of the generosity of the Parishioners and also the financial constraints that people are under at the present time, to reduce the second collections. There will no longer be four collections a year for the Diocesan quota. A list is in the Narthex of the statutory second collections from the diocese and those that are traditionally taken in the Parish. We are also looking to reduce costs by reducing the number of boxed envelopes and invite people to do a Standing Order instead. This would also lower the amount for the counters to calculate.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land with Father Michael

Free Faith Guiding Courses at St. Philip’s Centre: St. Philip’s Centre, in conjunction with Leicester City Council, is offering two FREE and exciting introductory courses on Faith Guiding in 2012. These courses are open to people within the City of Leicester boundary who have an interest in religion and belief and who are interested in becoming faith guides in order to welcome visitors to places of worship. A big “thank you”

A big “thank you” to everyone who has contributed to the celebrations of Christmas - who have helped to make Christmas such a wonderful celebration. The liturgy was beautifully prepared and celebrated with much hard work from many people. The Church was spectacular with its flowers and decorations and contributed greatly to the atmosphere. The small band of cleaners did a wonderful job in preparing the Church. It was nice to see a number of children and young people helping.

Travelling Nativity

Every year our travelling nativity takes a journey around the parish. Two families meet every day in December as part of our preparation to celebrate the birth of Jesus, with one family handing the nativity over to another throughout Advent. If you would like to be a part of it, all you have to do is put your name on the poster in the church to receive the travelling nativity into your home. It will be brought to you. (See poster in the porch for full details)

The Parish Bazaar

To make it a success we need your support on the day - by helping us with the selling of the raffle tickets and donations towards the various stalls.
